Fen Ditton Gallery
Fen Ditton Gallery is a new gallery established in 2018 by Cambridge artist and photographer Lotte Attwood.
Situated in the heart of Fen Ditton village, just a short cycle ride along the river from central Cambridge, Lotte worked on the conversion of this handsome Victorian National School building, with advice from independent curator Amanda Game and architect Matthew Maier of Brocklehurst Architects.
Lotte invited Amanda to help develop the concept and early programme for the gallery drawing on her extensive experience as a curator in the field of craft and design and the gallery launched with Borderlands, an exhibition of works by silversmith Simone ten Hompel and Lotte's own photographs. https://www.fendittongallery.com

The Old Fire Engine House
The Old Fire Engine House is a restaurant and art gallery in Ely, Cambridgeshire. It is situated just west of the cathedral in an attractive Georgian house with a large walled garden stocked with many old English fruit trees, herbs and flowers.
It was built in the mid 18th Century on the site of a farmhouse which was the home of Dean Tyndell's widow in 1616. Ely's horse-drawn fire engine was kept there at the turn of the century, which can now be seen in a photograph above the fire in the bar.
Ann Jarman set up the restaurant in 1968 with two friends and continues to run it with her husband Michael. Their aim was to use local, seasonal ingredients and recipes; a concept which is commonplace now, but was relatively unusual fifty years ago. http://www.theoldfireenginehouse.co.uk

The Cambridge Original Printmakers Biennale 2018 delivered once again an outstanding event, as expected by the visitors and exhibitors. The exhibition took place at the wonderful historic Pitt Building, Trumpington St, Cambridge CB2 1RP, situated on the corner of Silver Street, opposite the famous Fitzbillies café.
The 2018 exhibition was open to printmakers who specialise in hand-pulled original prints, and work within a 35 mile radius of Cambridge UK (from the marketplace). All printmakers who submitted for the Cambridge Original Biennale 2018 had their work viewed and selected by an independent selection panel. http://cambridgeoriginalprintmakers.com/
